My days as a Video Vixen. Ha!
This reel includes scenes from a short silent film (it works as a music video) that I produced six years prior to "The Artist." The original music/sound was less than perfect on most of these, but I was able to plug in fresh tunes. The sound/music on Mel-Low's video was pretty bad so I had to switch it out with a different song. I could not find the original song, "Money, Houses & Clothes." There is also an embarrassing stint on a television show that I included for a good chuckle.
In 1994 I won a contest to be in Prince's video "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World." A few of us won actually. And we were flown up to Minneapolis to Prince's Paisley Park Studios. It was cold and the ground was completely snow-covered. We were set up in a lovely hotel, got to the studios, and were put in hair and make-up and wardrobe.
We waited in a large room until we were called for. But then someone told us we could venture out and see what was going on. I was looking over a balcony at part of the set watching them film. I felt a presence getting closer to me on my left side. I could tell it was a small woman or a child. I looked over and it was PRINCE!! I had no clue he was so short. I was so freakin' nervous that when he asked me questions I just gave him one-word answers.
Needless to say he was unimpressed. I was cut out of the video, what little of it I was filmed in, and was expeditiously sent back to Los Angeles on the next flight out.
However, several months later when his CD came out, I discovered that one of the pictures he used for the inside cover of the CD was my headshot! Thank you Mr. Nelson...thank you.
